Overview

Ras Al Khaimah is the UAE's great outdoors — a dramatic emirate where the jagged Hajar Mountains plunge down to golden desert dunes and pristine beaches along a 64-kilometre coastline. Known as RAK, it offers some of the most exhilarating adventures in the region: ride the world's fastest zip line down Jebel Jais — the UAE's highest peak — paraglide over ancient wadis, or explore 7,000 years of continuous human settlement at archaeological sites that predate any other emirate. The old town of Al Qawasim retains a coastal heritage of pearl diving and dhow building, while the Dhayah Fort rises above palm groves on a rocky outcrop with sweeping views across the Northern Emirates.
