The UAE experiences a classic desert climate, featuring hot summers, mild winters, and very little rainfall. It ranks among the sunniest places globally, with clear blue skies dominating most of the year. This sunny and dry environment is perfect for beachgoers and outdoor lovers, although temperatures fluctuate significantly depending on the season.
Summers in the UAE are long and extremely hot. Between June and September, daytime temperatures frequently soar above 40°C (104°F), sometimes reaching up to 50°C (122°F) inland. The heat combined with humidity — especially near the coast — can be quite overwhelming. During this period, it's best to plan outdoor activities early in the morning or after sunset, and indoor air conditioning becomes essential. Many residents and visitors spend summer enjoying indoor venues such as shopping malls, hotels, and entertainment centers.
Winter is the most favored season for visiting the UAE. From December to February, daytime temperatures are pleasantly mild, ranging between 15–25°C (59–77°F), with cooler evenings. This weather is ideal for outdoor experiences like desert safaris, beach outings, and sightseeing without the intense summer heat.
Three Things to Remember
March to May & October to November
Spring and autumn serve as transitional periods, with temperatures gradually rising in spring and cooling off in autumn. These months offer warm but manageable weather and fewer tourists, making them great times to visit for those seeking a quieter experience.
Scarce rain, coastal humidity
Rainfall is scarce and usually occurs briefly during the winter months. Humidity tends to be moderate to high along the coastline but decreases considerably further inland, making desert areas feel drier even when temperatures are high.
Something for every season
Regardless of the time of year, the UAE's weather supports a lively and diverse lifestyle — from luxurious beach resorts and outdoor festivals to desert explorations and bustling city tours. With thoughtful planning, visitors can enjoy everything this vibrant country has to offer all year long.
